V.C. Paralysis post-Cervical Spine OP

November 2017 |

After cervical spine surgery, I developed recurrent laryngeal nerve palsy and was left with only a hoarse, toneless voice. I could no longer work in my speaking profession and was desperately unhappy. I researched and found Dr. Wohlt in Berlin. From the very first phone call with the very friendly Ms. Bär, I had a good feeling. I had many questions, was able to call often, and I was taken seriously. I first met Dr. Wohlt for my initial diagnostic examination on 14 November 2017. He is very sensitive, empathetic and competent, and as a patient he immediately made me feel safe. On 15 November 2017, he successfully operated on my right vocal cord, and I was able to speak again immediately after the surgery. It is incredible – I feel reborn! I do not think anyone can imagine what it is like to lose a resonant voice; you simply stop being noticed in everyday life. I am endlessly grateful to Dr. Wohlt and wish him and his wonderful team all the best. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart!
